An independent charity, the High Tide Foundation was founded in 2012 by co-founders and key Teesport businesses PD Ports and Casper Shipping with a view to dispelling the myths often associated with the Maritime sector and encourage children out of the classroom and in to industry.
The foundation, which aims to deliver meaningful work experience and career programmes to schools, colleges and young people across the Tees Valley, has continued to go from strength-to-strength since its inception and now boasts over 150 supporting businesses, each helping to showcase opportunities and shape the workforce of tomorrow.
Having proudly engaged over 6,500 young people with its raising aspirations programmes, High Tide works tirelessly to link the curriculum with careers, opening its initiatives to schools and colleges across the region. Alongside workplace-based activities, the charity has expanded its offering to include a range of tailored virtual experiences and online career insights delivered in partnership with Speakers for Schools.
